While traveling, you should be flexible. You might have a plan, but who says you need to stick to it? At least, if you don't have any transportation tickets booked...
And that is how we ended up in Manizales. Liesje wanted to go and see a particular volcano so bad, that we did a small detour before heading to Medellin.
The hostel in Manizales was not really worth mentioning. It wasn't really bad, only kind of old, which gave it a dirty look. They were in construction, so I bet it will look jist lovely in a few weeks!
And there was a big fat spider in the room! I never like to sleep in the top bed in dorms, but that night I quickly switched beds with Jelle!
I didn't go to the volcano, I needed a day of rest and some me-time. I slept in - they had to wake up at 4.30! - had breakfast with one of the roomies, walked around and stopped in a charming little coffeeshop, did groceries and cooked an Ady's Kitchen style meal for myself. I enjoyed the day! Sometimes you just need to take care of yourself!
Impressions of Manizales:
